Spend a weekend relaxing at the beach and learning to surf
Eli Howard offers a unique way to experience and explore the California coast and State Park environments. An easy drive from downtown San Diego and L.A. areas, the North County State Beaches provide a beautiful ocean coastline to learn surfing. Over the weekend participants will receive clinics involving many aspects of surfing through a series of 2hr surfing clinics and coaching. The weekend begins Saturday morning at our San Elijo State Beach campsite just steps from the ocean. We will drop right in for our first morning surf session to learn fundamentals and improve on our skills with the highly regarded and awesome Eli Howard instructors to guide you. Whether you are a beginner or a surfer looking for advanced techniques our clinics run smoothly with a 3:1 (student to instructor) ratio providing each surfer with individualized instruction needed to help you achieve your highest potential. 
Over the weekend guests will have the option to participate in 4hrs of surfing clinics daily, relax on the beach, and choose from a variety of activities such as lagoon hikes, surfboard care seminars, yoga/stretching sessions, and visiting the local beach community. Nutritious gourmet meals are prepared by Eli Howard's camp chef and instructors. All meals will have a variety of food choices and offer delicious vegetarian options. Special needs can always be arranged in advance. Hearty breakfasts are always included, and we offer savory steak and chicken kabobs, fresh bread, tropical fruit, lunch deli spreads, and Dutch oven desserts. After a hearty camp meal we may soak in the evening sunrise. San Elijo State Beach is an ideal setting for lounging under dazzling stars around a cozy campfire. Tents and sleeping pads are provided. Depending on guests' interests, instructors are delighted to spice things up with nature lore, and tales of local history and cultures. By Sunday afternoon guests are filled with a sense of confidence in surfing, experiences from the coast, and stress relief. You depart feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and alive!

All weekend getaways require a minimum of 4 people to run, so bring a group of 4 to ensure your place! We can also run weekend surf getaways on weekends not listed below, with a minimum of 4 people, on a space-available basis, year-round.

The Weekend Getaway requires a $75.00 non-refundable deposit two weeks prior to the start date of the camp and the remaining balance on the first day of camp. We accept checks or cash. (Please make checks payable to: Eli Howard Surf School).
